Monipel project 2010:

MaPe-project has finished and there in a new Monipel - project that vill be run the whole year 2010. This new project will offer rehabilitation for gamblers and their familymembers in Helsinki, Vantaa and Kauniainen areas. The rehab model is based on the model that was developed in MaPe-project.

Please do not hesitate to call and make an appointment. You may also discuss the gambling issues in phone with the counselor. The meetings take place in the premises of The Foundation of Social Pedagogy in Sörnäinen, Hämeentie 31 A 6th floor, 00500 Helsinki.

You are not alone. Problem gambling affects many young people and their family and close friends in Finland. It is possible to find a way out of the cycle or gambling - and we can help you to find it.

A fairly new phenomenon is Internet Addiction and it's subtypes Gambling, Gaming and eBay. In the beginning gaming and gambling in internet may be harmless or it consumes only time but in the end of the day it will have an economical effect on one's life. Acess to virtual casinos, interactive games, and eBay, addicts loose excessive amounts of money and even disrupt other job-related duties or significant relationships. We may help you also with this addiction.

The Foundation of Social Pedagogy is running a project to help young immigrants with gambling addiction (abbreviated to MaPe from the project title in Finnish). We offer support free of charge and you don't even need to tell us your name if you don't want to. Even though MaPe is primarily aimed at young people with immigrant background, we can accommodate all young people with gambling problem on our rehabilitation programme if there are spaces available on the programme. The project is run in Helsinki and Vaasa regions.

Problem gambling also often takes it toll on gambler's family, partner or close friends. That is why we also offer support for family members and close friends of problem gamblers.

Our team can speak English, Finnish and Swedish. Don't worry if you don't speak any of these languages fluently as we can arrange one-to-one meetings with an interpreter.
